No Strings Attached

18 May

Now, this was a romantic comedy that worked. Before departing from NJ, we watched this with Brian and Carrie. From the opening scene until the end, this movie had jokes that made you laugh out loud, moments that tugged at your heart strings, some very memorable lines, and of course, Natalie Portman.

Actually, very early in the film, I felt like they were giving a bit of a nod to “Garden State.” Natalie’s character in “No Strings Attached,” Emma, had some lines and behaviors that were reminiscent of “Garden State’s” Sam. Specifically, when she mentioned being very “weird” at the frat party. Maybe it was unintentional, and I picked up on it simply because of my affection for “Garden State.”

Anyway, we all laughed heartily and thoroughly enjoyed the flick. I’m sure this is one that I will tune into when I come across it on television.
